A Historic Culinary Retreat on Eagle Lake
The Roosevelt Dining Room

Surrounded by wilderness and steeped in tradition, the historic Roosevelt Dining Room at Eagle Lake Sporting Camps offers a dining experience that’s as memorable as the adventures that bring you here. Established in 1889, this log cabin dining room has welcomed generations of adventurers, business leaders, politicians—even royalty—making it a hallmark of Maine’s culinary heritage.
The space comfortably seats up to 30 guests, offering an intimate setting for meals shared among friends, family, and colleagues. At the heart of the room is the octagonal “Roosevelt Table,” designed to be “politically correct,” giving everyone an equal seat—specifically crafted to allow heads of state, competitors, and kindred spirits to share a meal on equal footing.
Whether you’re enjoying a casual breakfast or a celebratory dinner, every meal is served with warm hospitality and unforgettable views. The Roosevelt Dining Room is also available for group gatherings, meetings, weddings, and private functions. A deposit is required to reserve special events.
Pre-Dinner Cocktails in the Rough Rider Lounge
Unwind before dinner in the Rough Rider Lounge, where you’ll find a welcoming atmosphere and a selection of beer, wine, cocktails, and light snacks. Choose from a variety of wines by the glass or bottle—perfect for pairing with your meal or enjoying by the lake. Open to the public. Hours vary by season and weather.
